About the Principal

Eugene R. Unterman is a 14,000+ hour, Commercial Pilot with Instrument Airplane and Multi-Engine Ratings. He was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1953, and attended Loyola University and Northwestern, where he majored in finance. He obtained his Commercial Pilot Rating in 1975.

Mr. Unterman has worked in the Aviation industry since 1975, for two Chicago areas Cessna Full Line Dealerships, then a 50% owner of a Cessna Multi-Engine Dealership until 1981. Since 1981 he has been president of his own Dealerships, FBO's and service business including responsible for running a full maintenance shop, paint shop, custom interior shop, and a large engine overhaul facility that specialized in Remanufacture to Factory New Limits. Over the years Mr. Unterman has also been responsible for the operation of one of the largest flight schools in the Chicago area, through the 80's, and a Part 135 Air Taxi Operation.

Mr. Unterman is the author of one of the most recognized books on the purchase of used aircraft. "How To Buy A Used Aircraft, Without Taking A Dive", is now in its sixth printing, third revision.

Mr. Unterman has also acted as an expert witness in several General Aviation issue trials, and price evaluation hearings.
